MUSEUM EVENT
Private Docent Tour Camron-Stanford House
1418 Lakeside Dr, Oakland CA 94612
Friday October 28, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Take BART to Lake Merritt Station.
The Camron-Stanford House is the last of the beautiful Victorian mansions that once surrounded Lake Merritt and was the home to five influential families.
The restored home helps visitors time travel to the 1880s and enter meticulously recreated living spaces while learning about the early days of Oakland as a city.
Warning: It is not ADA compliant. There are stairs.
Just for fun, we will also see the Halloween exhibit, "Ghoulish and Ghastly: 19th Century Monsters in Popular Culture." RCSF member Iliana Morton, who is the executive director, has invited us to use the veranda after the tour. There will be a self service tea for our group, and we may order boxed lunch.
A boxed lunch (sandwhich, fruit, chips, and dessert) we can order from our caterer for $20/each, with a minimum of 10.
Turkey, bacon, Swiss option
Roasted veggie vegetarian option.
The cost is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors.
